All treatments
How do I know which treatment I need?
That's what your consultation is for. We'll talk through your concerns, your goals and your preferences (subtle versus more noticeable), then I'll explain which options fit best, and just as importantly, what won't be appropriate.
Is a consultation required before treatment?
Yes. A consultation allows us to check your medical history, discuss suitability, explain risks and aftercare, and make sure you're making an informed decision. For some treatments a cooling-off period may also apply.
Will I look "done" or unnatural?
The aim is always a refreshed, balanced result that still looks like you. Treatment is tailored to your facial structure and starting point, and we can build gradually rather than doing too much in one go.
Does it hurt?
Most clients describe injectables as manageable rather than painful. We use comfort measures such as topical numbing where appropriate, and many products also contain a local anaesthetic.
Will I bruise or swell?
Possibly. Bruising and swelling are common with any injectable treatment and vary person to person and area to area. We'll talk you through what's typical and what would be considered unusual.
What's the downtime?
Downtime varies by treatment and by individual. Some people return to normal activities the same day, others prefer a few days' buffer in case of swelling or bruising. If you have a big event, we'll plan your timing around it.
How long do results last?
It depends on the treatment, the area, your metabolism and lifestyle factors. At your consultation I'll give you a realistic range and help you plan maintenance sensibly.
Can I combine treatments?
Often yes, but timing matters. Some combinations work beautifully together when spaced correctly, while others should be separated to reduce irritation and swelling, and to allow proper assessment of results.
Who should not have treatment?
If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection, are unwell on the day, or have certain medical conditions or medications, treatment may not be suitable or may need medical clearance. This is assessed at your consultation.
What if I'm not sure, or I'm nervous?
That's completely normal. We can start conservatively, talk through options, and you should never feel rushed. Sometimes the best plan is "not yet", and that's still a good outcome.
Dermal filler
What can dermal filler help with?
Dermal filler can help with restoring volume loss, softening the look of lines and folds, defining facial shape and improving facial proportions.
Will I look unnatural or "overfilled"?
The aim is subtle, balanced enhancement. A good plan focuses on facial harmony with the option to build gradually if needed.
Is filler reversible?
Some fillers are hyaluronic acid based and can be dissolved if needed. This requires appropriate medical governance and assessment. Not all filler types are dissolvable, and this will be discussed before treatment.
Is dermal filler painful?
Most people find treatment tolerable describing a brief scratch or pressure. We can use topical numbing cream, and where appropriate local anaesthetic to keep you as comfortable as possible.
How long does dermal filler last?
Dermal filler longevity varies by area, product and your metabolism. As a general guide results can last around 6 to 18 months.
Anti-wrinkle treatments
What do anti-wrinkle treatments do?
They temporarily relax specific muscles to soften expression lines such as frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet, and can also be used for certain facial balancing effects, depending on suitability.
How quickly will I see results?
You'll usually start to notice changes within 5 to 10 days, with full effect typically seen around two weeks. This varies person to person.
Will I still look like me, and will my face still move?
Yes, when dosed and placed correctly you should still look like you. We'll discuss the look you want, from very subtle softening through to a stronger reduction in movement, and tailor your plan accordingly.
How long does it last?
Most patients find results last around 3 to 5 months, but it varies depending on different factors including the area treated, dose, muscle strength and metabolism. Movement returns gradually rather than stopping suddenly.
Will it hurt?
Most people describe it as a quick, mild scratch or pinprick.
Is it suitable for everyone?
No. Suitability is assessed individually at consultation, including your medical history and current medications. Treatment is only provided where it is clinically appropriate.
Polynucleotides
What are polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides are regenerative injectables used to support skin quality. They're typically chosen for concerns like crepey texture, fine lines, dullness and skin resilience.
Are polynucleotides the same as filler?
No. They're not designed to add volume or reshape facial structure. They're used to improve skin quality over time.
When will I see results?
Results are gradual and build across a course of treatments. Many people notice improvements over several weeks as skin quality changes develop.
Is there downtime?
You may have temporary redness, swelling, small bumps at injection points and occasional bruising. These usually settle quickly, but it's a good idea to allow a buffer before big events.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people benefit from a course of 3 to 4 sessions, then maintenance depending on goals and skin response. Your plan will be discussed at consultation.
Skin boosters
What is a skin booster?
Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed primarily to improve hydration and skin texture, giving a healthier glow and smoother texture.
Will skin boosters change my face shape?
No. They're not designed to change your face shape. The aim is improved hydration, texture and overall radiance.
Are skin boosters the same as polynucleotides?
No, they're different categories. Skin boosters focus strongly on hydration, softness and texture. While polynucleotides are aimed at tissue repair and regeneration. We'll advise what fits your concerns and sometimes they might be used in a plan together.
How long do results last?
It varies by product and individual but most patients see results lasting 3 to 6 months. Many patients do a course initially, then maintenance sessions to keep results topped up.
Can skin boosters be combined with other treatments?
Often yes, and they can complement each other well provided it's done with a structured plan and appropriate spacing.
