Lip filler in North Shields
Lip filler uses a soft hyaluronic acid gel to add shape, definition, hydration or a little volume to the lips.
Good lip work is about proportion. Your plan is built around your face, your teeth and your smile, so the result looks like your own lips on a good day, never overfilled. Many people start with 0.5ml and build gradually if they'd like more.

Timeline
What to expect, day by day
Lips swell more than most areas. Please judge your result at two to four weeks, not on day one.
- Day 1
Lips look fuller straight away, but much of that is swelling. Tenderness and some bruising are common.
- Days 2 to 3
Swelling usually peaks, often worst on waking. It isn't your final result. A cool pack wrapped in a clean cloth helps.
- Day 7
Most swelling has gone down. Small lumps or unevenness can still be settling.
- Day 14
A good time for a review to check shape and symmetry.
- Final result
Fully settled at four weeks. This is your true result.
FAQs
Questions, answered honestly
How much lip filler will I need?
It depends on your starting point and the look you'd like. Many people start with 0.5ml for a subtle change, or 1ml for more noticeable shape. We'll decide together at your consultation, and you can always build gradually.
Will my lips look natural?
That's the aim. Your plan is based on your proportions, and less is often more. If you'd like a bigger change, it's safer and more natural to build it over more than one appointment.
Does lip filler hurt?
Lips are sensitive, but most people find it very manageable. Numbing cream is applied first, and most lip fillers also contain a local anaesthetic.
How long does the swelling last?
Swelling is usually most noticeable for the first 24 to 72 hours and mostly settles within a week. If you have an event coming up, book at least two weeks before, ideally four.
How long does lip filler last?
Often around 6 to 12 months, depending on the product, the amount used and your metabolism. Lips move a lot, so filler here tends to break down sooner than in areas like the cheeks.
Can lip filler be dissolved?
Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if needed, after a proper assessment. Filler dissolving is £150.
I get cold sores. Can I still have lip filler?
Usually, yes, but tell me before your appointment. Treatment can trigger a cold sore, so we'll plan around it, and treatment won't go ahead while one is active.
I have dental treatment coming up. Does that matter?
Yes. Where possible, leave around two weeks between dental treatment and lip filler, either side. Stretching the mouth and dental injections can disturb fresh filler.
